Ulukan Abacı General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors Ulukan ABACI was born in Samsun in 1993 to a family of Thessaloniki immigrants. When he was very young, he participated in the Turkish Aeronautical Association Free Parachute course in 2009. Abacı then successfully completed gliding and paragliding courses in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Abacı, one of the first students of Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Civil Aviation, Department of Civil Air Transportation Management, was among the founders of Ondokuz Mayıs University UZAYTEM Flight Academy, which was established within the faculty in 2013, and completed his PPL flight training as the first student of this academy. After graduating in 2015, he started his professional career at UZAYTEM Flight Academy without a break. In this process, he continued his pilotage life with Cessna type airplanes and sport aviation life with paragliding and also served as the founding chairman of the board of directors of Ondokuz Mayıs University Aviation Club. With this club, he has succeeded in introducing hundreds of people to paragliding and thousands of people to aviation in areas such as unmanned aerial vehicles.

While continuing to work as a volunteer in many different tasks within UZAYTEM, he had an accident with paragliding on August 17, 2016 and had to end his work at the Academy. In 2016, Abacı, who recovered after two months of treatment, founded PIC Cenneti, Turkey’s first PIC (Pilot in Command) focused company, which enables young commercial pilot candidates to receive training in Turkey instead of Europe at more affordable costs. Subsequently, NorthFLY Flight Academy was established to serve Turkish Aviation in a more professional manner. Abacı attributed the name of the hangar he established in Samsun to his father Erdoğan ABACI. However, Mr. Erdoğan died of a heart attack on the day of the hangar opening. In a short period of one year, NorthFLY Flight Academy opened its branches in Istanbul and Tekirdağ. In 2021, NorthFLY Flight Academy took part in several countries’ air force cadet selection flights. As of 2022, it has established a partnership with global aviation training giant Airways Aviation, enabling foreign pilot candidates to receive training in Turkey. NorthFLY Flight Academy is currently the only flight school in Turkey to provide EASA and CASA ATPL training.

Abacı, who is also a Scout, holds airplane, UAV, glider, ultralight, paragliding pilot licenses. Apart from his business life, Ulukan Abacı, who loves to travel, is the chairman and member of the board of directors of companies such as Airways Aviation Turkey, Pilot and DroneTURK, as well as NorthFLY Flight Academy.
